Grapes - Montepulciano

Origin - Abruzzo, Italy

Vintage - 2021

Style - Traditional

Fermented in stainless steel and aged in large old oak barrels, this is a richer wine than expected. It has notes of black cherry fruit with a meaty, earthy flavor that swings at parties and sings with pasta Bolognese.

Italy's Abruzzo region boasts high mountains at its western edge, miles of beaches along the Adriatic at its eastern edge and extensive farming on the hills in between. Grape growing has a long tradition here, however like in much of the south, wine production was historically oriented to quantity rather than quality.
