"GP" is Stefan Steinmetz's abbreviation for Grosses Piesporter or "Great Piesporter." He intends this as a comparative wine to the "GG" designation that other producers use. This is sourced from old vines on a perfect exposition, vinified almost to dryness. This 2016 is just beginning to show gorgeously earthy, slate-y, petrol notes that shows why we love aged Riesling so much.
