We like to champion the underdogs here at Coolvines. Often relegated as top-up wine in Kir and vilified as an innocuous little white by most, Aligote has come up a long way to become the “insider’s grape”. Domaine de Villaine is owned by Aubert de Villaine of DRC and run by his nephew, Pierre de Benoist, their aim is to elevate Bouzeron Aligote as equal to any white in more prestigious neighbors up north.
