Maguey Melate Sergio Martínez Rodríguez "Pelón Verde"

Pelón Verde, which translates to "hairless green," is a wild and unclassified agave variant, Sergio made the bold decision to start cultivating Pelón Verde himself. He recognized that its biology and flavor profile were drastically superior to the widely produced Espadín. Because it is an incredibly inefficient and slow-growing agave to harvest, Sergio was the only producer in his deep Sierra Sur region actively cultivating it.

This very limited and rare release is accentuated by the fact that Sergio sadly passed away a year after this release.
