Faccia Brutto Description
Amaro Gorini is the first amaro we tried our hand at making years ago and has been refined to what we believe is perfection. A selection of 14 botanicals including chinchona bark, gentian, quassia wood, a LOT of orange peel, and a selection of warm spices are macerated in non-GMO spirit for a couple of weeks. It is then proofed down to 40% abv and rested in used whiskey barrels for 4 months. The resulting amaro is further filtered, proofed, sweetened, and bottled at 22% abv. It is a southern-Italian style amaro filled with soft caramel notes and lots of orange peel, backed up by pleasant bitterness and a lingering finish. Phenomenal at soothing stomachs after a meal, or mixing into a Black Manhattan.
